About:
Breyana is a first-year DVM/PhD student in the Brown Lab co-advised by Dr. Rosemary Bayless. She completed her undergraduate studies at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Laboratory Animal Science and Bachelor of Science in Animal Science. She is passionate about advancing animal and public health through translational research. Her experience includes studies on autophagy in the placenta, antimicrobial resistance, and animal welfare, with a long-term goal of contributing to the profession as a veterinarian and scientist. She is especially interested in how research can inform clinical care and improve outcomes for both animals and people.
